Sonic Ranch Project

Working with a new supergroup at The Sonic Ranch in El Paso, TX was an extraordinary experience, where rock legends from bands like Aerosmith, Guns N’ Roses, John Fogerty, and Alice Cooper collided, bringing an unmistakable energy to the studio. Brett Hellings, Kenny Aronoff, Steve Fortus, Billy Sheehan, Buck Johnson, and Tommy Henriksen—each with their own legacy—came together to create something both fresh and timeless. Capturing the synergy of such immense talent in one place was exhilarating, with every moment charged with intensity, from thunderous drumbeats to searing guitar riffs and quiet moments of collaboration between takes. The Sonic Ranch, nestled in the desert, added a raw, earthy dimension to the shoot, its natural light and rustic studio spaces mirroring the gritty yet electrifying sound the group was crafting. Robert’s goal was to capture the essence of their creative process, highlighting not only the larger-than-life personalities but also the camaraderie and chemistry that emerged between these rock giants. Each image is a snapshot of the passion, history, and musical mastery that unfolded during those sessions.
